Purple Day: March 26th to Support Epilepsy

This morning I had to head to the doctor to have some blood drawn and while sitting there the nurse asked the gentleman across from me what color bandage he wanted, "pink" or "purple"? He said he wanted the purple one because today was "Wear Purple Day" to support Epilepsy.

I asked him how he knew about the day of support and he mentioned that he heard it on the radio.

This made me think about all the "Wear....to show your support for...." and wonder how most folks find out about these specials day?

Some days, such as December 1st has become known as World AIDS Day ever since 1988, World Smile Day, started by Harvey Ball in 1999, is celebrated on the first Friday of October, to name a few.
