CSX Trash, 4Rilla & Kate Toomey (A Twitter Story)

I was reading some posts on Twitter late last night, and I stumbled upon a Twitter conversation between 4Rilla and City Councilor Kate Toomey regarding the trash that exists near the CSX train tracks.

I find it interesting and refreshing, at the same time, that while we have this great piece of technology called the Internet, the conversation took place on the Net and easily read by the "followers" of 4Rilla and Kate Toomey on Twitter to read.

The back-and-forth conversation was cordial and when Kate Toomey pressed 4Rilla for more information regarding, "Where is the trash located? What is the address?", 4Rilla replied and then attached the following link to pictures of said trash, which he posted on Flickr.

Don't you just love technology?

Just to let you and your followers know, CSX did indeed respond quickly to me and outlined a process that has been put in place. To date, they have spent over $200,000 removing trash from the tracks over the past 5 years, working with Councilor Haller.
The process, from what I am told, is underway to do another major cleanup with prevention measures being included, in cooperation with the police department with surveillance, etc. CSX will be paying for the surveillance equipment, and yet another major cleanup. This is ILLEGAL dumping, and it is being put there by citizens. We all need to be vigilant and help identify who is dumping trash. To that end, there is a tip link for the WPD for texting and on-line reporting: http://www.worcesterma.gov/police/anonymous-crime-tips
