Snow Damage: Vernon Hill home roof about to collapse

I happened to be driving by this house earlier this morning, on my way to take the Princess to school, and a gentleman flagged me down to let me know that this house's wall buckling and that I should be cautious while driving by.

After taking the Princess to school, I had to make my way back home, and I typically drive up Vernon Street to make my way to Granite Street.

Well, let's just say that due to the snow, ice and a flat roof, the foundation started to crack and it appeared that the house would collapse at any moment. (Luckily, the house is vacant and it appears that it's owned by a bank, because of the professionally applied boards on the windows.)

In speaking with a few firemen and Emergency Staff, the plan is to knock the house down. (The residents of the houses on either side have been evacuated as a safety precaution.)

I'll post more pictures of the torn down house later.

Geez, a whole house coming down because of the snow?! Wasn't husband just talking about how did they know back in the day when these houses were built how much pressure snow could put on the building...
