Heat in de Place

The title of today's post comes from a Calypso song that the well
known Jam Band used to sing.

Every year, in preperation for St. Thomas's Carnival, in April, Jam
Band would come up with 5-8 songs that would carry the territory
through Carnival, with one particular tune being the song that would
vye for the 'Carnival Road March' title.

Well, with the heat finally here I thought it only appropriate to
write about "Heat in de Place" and use this picture from a store in NH
that sold "Life Is Crap" merchandise.

Yesterday, while making a Target run, I overheard two Target employees
complaining about how hot it was and, one in particular, complain
about the fact that he didn't have an air conditioner at home, and the
one in his car had recently stopped working. A few more seconds passed
and a third Target employee joined the conversation and he was quick
to say, "Dude, after this past winter y'all need to shut the hell up
and stop your complaining!". All I could do was shake my head in
agreement and make my way to the paper products, because I'm out of
napkins at home.
