Say it LOUD!

When I received this letter from Virginia Ryan, I just had to share it! And who said the pen wasn't mightier than the sword? (Oh, wait, that was Mayor Lukes.)

From Virginia Ryan, Chair, of Coalition of Worcester Retirees

To : Worcester city retirees (AKA, THUGS) and to all future thugs (AKA, present city employees)

Date: October 29, 2009

We need you to make phone calls Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm at NAGE office located at 70 Elm Street (corner of West St.). Adequate parking in the rear. Six phone lines available. Bring your cell phones with you in case more THUGS show up. Just walk-in and volunteer you THUGS and future THUGS.

We can make a difference on November 3rd only if YOU WALK THE WALK and show up to make calls.

DO YOUR MATH: Workers United is supporting 7 candidates including Kola Akindele. Who is he? I never heard of him either but I met with him after the Workers United interviews and am thoroughly impressed with him and his parents. I have changed my calendar this week to promote Koka Kola and you should too. I know Koka Kola. He is the “ real thing.” I know Grace Ross is the “real thing.” I know all endorsed WORKERS UNITED candidates are the real thing.

SECTION 19: Councilor Joe Petty made a motion to “request” that the city manager cap retiree health insurance premiums at 25% on October 6, 2009. Judy Roy, former coalition spokesperson stated at a council meeting in 2007 prior to adoption of Section 18, “WE MAY BE OLD, BUT WE AREN’T STUPID.” Councilor Joe Petty thinks we are STUPID.

A request means NOTHING. Only Section 19 will give retirees a seat at the negotiating table on health insurance.

Only Section 19 will save the city of Worcester millions of dollars as it has in other MA communities.
