Olympics 2016: Rio de Janeiro

Congratulations Rio de Janeiro, first city in South America to host
Summer Olympic Games in 2016!

President Obama & First Lady Michelle put the full-court press on the
IOC, but it would not have been good for Chicago. Also, the recent
teenage violence probably didn't help either.

Music: Kanye West & Lady Gaga Concert CANCELED

Folks in Massachusetts were getting excited to see Kanye West and Lady Gaga perform, and I know that folks in Worcester were even more excited to find out that the tour was going to bring Mr. West a/k/a/ "Mr. Iwillinterruptyouwhileyouarereceivinganawardtomakeanassoutofmyself" and Miss Lady a/k/a/ "Ms. IhavenevermetacostumethatIdidnotlike" to the DCU Center. Well, LiveNation is pulling the plug on the tour and no explanation is being given.

Sports: NBA D League (Just not in the WORC)

Springfield, MA has a DLeague team, and now so does Maine.

That's right, the Maine Red Claws will get their start this November
2009, but first they're holding tryouts for ballers and hoop dreamers:
Saturday, October 3 at UMASS Boston.

The open tryouts will bring out a plethora of hoop dreamers, but the
three best players will get their ticket punched for training camp.

For information and details log onto http://NBA.com/dleague.

(Editor's Note: Yes, your eyes are not playing tricks on you, that is
the Celtics' Rasheed Wallace's silhoutte on the sneaker.)

Priority #1: Voting

These days there seems to be little in the way of news or, at least, a
front-runner who really wants to be a City Councilor or Mayor. It
seems like everyone is doing the same-old same-old when it comes to
marketing or putting themselves out there. That doesn't surprise,
though.

Its September 29, 2009, and by all accounts and from reading the
various Worcester Blogs, it appears as if it's a 2-person race between
incumbent Konnie Lukes and Joe O'Brien.

Mayor Lukes a/k/a/ Da'Face would like to reclaim her seat and knows
that she can count on a solid 6,500 or so voters, because folks in
Worcester don't vote. Voter apathy is rampant, and Konnie knows this
like Bo Jackson knew football.

So, the question that I pose is this,"If given a chance to vote or
attend a New England Patriots game, which would you choose?".
(Alright, don't all answer at once. Thank you.)
