Bill Coleman Senate Run & Charter Reform Pusher

On Monday, of this week, I read on Boston.com that Bill Coleman had decided to run for the Senate seat recently vacated by the late Ted Kennedy. I immediately shouted, "NO!" and shook my head similarly to Vice President Biden as he did when South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson yelled, "You lie", during President Obama's speech to Congress.

Yeah, 'ol Bill is at it again, and while he may have as much of a shot at winning as does Mayor Lukes has from removing the "I smell something foul" look from her face, Bill Coleman is jumping back in the fire.

People may try to knock Bill Coleman, and I don't know what his motivation is, but one thing you know is a constant with Bill is, he's never met an election that he feels he can't enter. Winning, is another matter.

Bill has also been pushing for a change from the Plan E form of government in Worcester to one where the Mayor has equal 'juice' as the City Manager does.

In June 2009, Bill spoke with Steve D'Agostino of 90.5 FM (WICN) about pushing for a change to the charter.

I'm sure Bill is the only one, besides a few retirees, who are pushing for a change to the Charter, as no one who is running for a City Council seat will touch this topic with a 10-foot pole.

Happy trails Bill.

Twittering might help you find a JOB

In a wild and crazy economy, people have resorted to all sorts of ways to landing that job interview. Just last week CNN reported that the number of people lying on their resume rises when jobs are scarce.

Now, in the era of 24/7 news reporting channels and the unending plethora of information available on the World Wide Web, in enters social media darling Twitter.

For those that are not familiar with Twitter or wonder what all the hype is about, please read this article, which I found very straightforward in explaining why Twitter is so popular and important, at the same time.

The key with Twitter is that it's not solely about micro-blogging, but rather it's about the people who use the service and the information that they share.

Well, now folks are using Twitter to gather job leads and gathering information about the company.

Joe Wilson: I'm NOT apologizing anymore

South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson went on record on Fox News this morning and defiantly stated that he is no longer going to apologize for his outburst during President Obama's speech to Congress.

It's going to be interesting to see whether or not the Democratic-controlled House censures Representative Wilson if he doesn't apologize on the House floor.

Let's not all hold our breath, because, as we know, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the House of Representatives.
