How much are you holdin'?

I guess the police department in Mexico got tired of arresting Americans who were holdin' weight and decriminalized drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and heroin stating that if a person has "personal use" amounts will be encouraged to go to rehab.

With the drugs flowing into the United States from Mexico, this should pose interesting for law enforcement officers at the border.

Crowley Gates Case: Flagg that Money

I appreciate the Cambridge Police Department's effort to "learn something" from the Henry Louis Gates, Jr. incident, but to create a committee to review the case and pay a former Massachusetts Turnpike Authority employee a one-year salary of $127,000 is absurd!

Jennifer Flagg, who served as the chief administrator for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority until July 31, 2009, worked in the capacity of reviewing the Turnpike Authority and the state Highway Department. Well, once her boss, Alan LeBovidge, who resigned in May stating that he had accomplished all that he could at the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (Read: He was catching heat-in-the-@ss for the Big Dig overspending and the Easter Sunday Zakim Bridge fiasco.).

Ms. Flagg will report directly to Police Commissioner Robert Haas, and the full committee will be named in the coming weeks.

An interesting side to this story is the committee members won't be paid, but Ms. Flagg will collect roughly $2,442 (before taxes) a week, while the committee members get nothing for their time! Hey, membership does have its privileges and Ms. Flagg is "plugged in".

Obama on Public Access Radio

President Obama is live on 1210 AM out of Philadelphia,PA with Michael
Smerconish taking call-in questions from the people.

Smerconish is a staunch Republican, but did support Obama in 2008!

Watching and listening to President Obama answer these questions
directly is refreshing and long overdue.

Whole Foods: You BIG Dummy! Pt. 2

When I wrote the post a week ago on WIM about Whole Foods's CEO, John Mackey, opinion piece he wrote in The Wall Street Journal on August 11, 2009, about the proposed Health Care Reform, I'm sure he didn't think he would be pissing-off Whole Foods Market's customers, but he did, and now Whole Foods is sending a letter of apology to those that may have taken offense to Mr. Mackey's comments. Read what Mackey wrote on his blog.

Folks who shop at Whole Foods Market took to the Internet and Twitter with a passion that is becoming more commonplace these days and let their thoughts be known.

John Mackey, you should have kept your thoughts to yourself and not hit one letter on that keyboard, but now you know how your customers feel about Health Care Reform, and knowiing is half the battle. (Sorry, I had to throw a G.I. Joe quote in there somewhere. Get over it!)

Rain, remember it?
