The "N" Word by Jonathan McCoy

I think I received an email from my mother, who was having an issue opening and viewing the video, so I did a quick conversion and was able to check out what it was she was trying to watch.

What I viewed is one of the more powerful video clips from a young man, Johnathan E. McCoy, who shared his thoughts about the use of the "N" word.

When we say that the children are the future leaders of this world, I hope and pray for more human beings such as Johnathan.

People of Wal-Mart

With the Wal-Mart being constructed in Worcester near the Interstate 146 South area, I suspect we'll have an opportunity to see some of Central Massachusetts' finest when the store opens.

A popular blog that's been gaining steaming while poking fun at the many people that shop at Wal-Mart is the People of Walmart.

The blog features pictures of "sightings" in Wal-Mart stores or parking lots from all over the USA. Some of downright side splitting and the folks that run the blog have a beauty on their hands.

Happy Friday and enjoy a good laugh!

VT: Hubby Hubby

It's always nice to see when companies that have had a long history of being Positive Innovators (PIs) hit consumers right between eyes .

With the passing of the gay marriage law in Vermont, Ben & Jerry's has decided to rename it's "Chubby Hubby" ice cream and will call it "Hubby Hubby" for the next 30-days.

Gmail: Does the "G" stand for GONE?

Folks all over the United States and the world were in utter annoyance yesterday when they attempted to sign into their Google Mail accounts, Gmail, only to find out they were greeted with an error message: Unable to reach Gmail.

A similar outage took place in May, and Google users were without service for an hour. Yesterday's outage was for almost 2-hours.

I guess this leaves us all wondering if Google is that beast to protect all of one's content? Hmmmmm.

A Lesson Learned

With the start of a new school it does create some anxiety for
parents, guardians, grand parents, etc.

My anxiety is for the kids, but not the typical anxiety that involves
either returning to school or attending a new school. Rather, it's the
anxiety of all the horrible drivers in Worcester being so enamored by
where they're going, that they fail to look out for the kids crossing
the street; sometimes in the crosswalk and most times not.

I do believe that many drivers in Worcester either bought their
license from a corner bodega or got the "hook up" from someone that
they, or their family, knows that works at the RMV.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen folks drive right by a
school bus, that is pulled over, with it's STOP sign extended,
flashing lights on, and it's front grill arm extended and the driver
drives by oblivious to all the warning signs. More times than I can
count on one hand, it's been because the driver is either talking on
their cellphone or talking to passengers and not paying attention to
the road.

(Editor's Note: Thanks to Brendan for pointing out that there is no law in Massachusetts enforcing holding a cellphone while driving or texting while driving. There is a proposal before the House of Representatives, which should pick up steam once again this fall.)

Today in Texas, a law was passed that fines drivers $1,000 for texting
or being on the phone while in a school zone.

Maybe we can encourage our great state to enforce the law and maybe,
just maybe, this may might be a way for Governor Patrick to put a dent
in the state's budget deficit? It's worth a shot!

Drink, if you'd like to!

I recently signed-up to receive Tweets from the Boston Tourism
Department, because, God forbid, folks in Boston make it easy to find
out what's going on in the Hub.

Boston is one of the hardest cities to find out what's going on when
it comes to nightlife. Yes, I do compare it to such cities such as New
York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, which all have very
good websites, run by their respective cities' tourism division and
cover the gamut of events broken down for age groups, family events
and cultural events.

Tthis Friday in Boston, kicks off the 2-day Sam Adams Beer Fest at the
Park Plaza Castle.

If you're on Twitter, I'd recommend following @BostonTourism.

Michael V. O'Brien: I RUN this City!

The Man has spoken and laid the smack down on all the candy-asses in Worcester, especially City Councilor Mike Germain, when it comes to pools in the WoO.

City Manager Michael O'Brien states that if you have an issue with it, "Talk to the hand!"
