MAJOR Sunset

During this time of the year, we often have some beautiful sunsets,
and today certainly didn't disappoint.

Planned Parenthood Ads

I guess smarter heads prevailed and the WRTA realized that they can't pick and choose who they want to advertise on the buses?

Also, I'm surprised this hasn't been BIGGER news in Worcester. The best reporting I've read has been by Jeff at Wormtowntaxi.com. Keep up the great work Jeff.

Haiti: Worcester's Role

While it's been 8-days since the earthquake struck the island of Hispaniola, the 24-hour news coverage, the pictures and the stories about those living in Haiti continue to blow my mind.

While through tragedy it's tough to find a silver lining, I wholeheartedly believe that for many years the United States has turned a blind-eye to Haiti, but now the entire world is paying attention to this grief-stricken country. It's a shame that it took such a tragedy that forced us to take off the blinders, but now we can do something.

Here in Worcester, the City has organized an event to help raise funds for Haiti Relief. The event is taking place on Friday, January 22, 2010, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Union Station.

Retirees: Mayor O'Brien Meet & Greet

The Worcester Retirees are having a meeting on Monday, January 25th at
9:30 am, that is open to the public at the Worcester Senior Center.

I've yet to meet Mayor O'Brien, so I might try my best to attend the
meeting and find out what he proposes that the City does with the
retirees' rising Medicare costs.

Stay tuned!

Martha Coakley: Not Goin' To Be Able To Do

I could try to get all poetic about Martha Coakley's loss to Senate-
elect Scott Brown, but it wouldn't do any good.

Martha loss, and loss BIG time!

Maybe, just maybe, Martha's last-minute television ads attacking Scott
Brown really rubbed people the wrong way, or maybe it was the debates
where Brown changed alot of voters's minds; I can't put my finger on
it. But in looking at a map of Massachusetts on http://Boston.com, the
map was convincingly red in favor of Brown. Only Worcester was blue
for Coakley, along with western Massachusetts- Springfield, the
Berkshires, etc.

Now, many are taking the "wait and see" approach as to what Senator-
elect Brown is going to do when he heads to Washington, D.C.

All we can do now is pray.

Driving in Worcester

I've been meaning to set-up my car web camera, but I've been sidetracked by my mother's hip surgery, but I finally got around to it today and decided to do some testing while making my way through Kelly Square.

This is just the beginning.
