Boxed Water?

With the ongoing debate about bottled water and the amount of waste the plastic bottles create, one company has decided to sell Boxed Water.

The company states that 20% of the profits are passed along to reforestation (10%) and water relief (10%) while you sip on the sweet hydrogen/oxygen nectar of Minnesota and a few parts per billion of paper pulp.

What happened to drinking water from the faucet or, better yet, boiling your water and pouring it into a pitcher that would chill on the top shelf of your refrigerator?

I'm going on record right now to say that this year, you will see Woo Water for sale in your corner bodega and White Hen Pantry. [II]

Green: What Are You Doing?

As the world attempts to become more "Green", the question must be asked, "What are you doing to be more Green?"

Growing up, as a child of the '70s, there was Sesame Street and Mr. Roger's Neighborhood that promoted conservation and taking better care of the planet Earth, then in the '80s there were cartoons such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and G.I. Joe. Nowadays there are television commercials and signs that encourage us all to do our part and use less of Earth's resources.

Here we are at the end of 2008 and we see more and more advertisements promoting using less and reducing our Carbon Footprint. What this all means is very difficult to pinpoint, but there is no denying that global warming is taking place.

We do have to wonder what the future holds and will we continue to see more melting of the polar ice caps?

So, what do you do to conserve energy, water and overall waste?
