Second Line in LA

The traditional "Second Line" is well known throughout the world, but I bet if you mention "Second Line" to anyone, they'll quickly reply that it's a dance typically done in New Orleans.

Well, now there's a 'second line' broken in Louisiana that is gushing oil.

BP to the Gulf Coast: You're worth $20 Billion to us

 

 

 

BP has agreed to put $20 Billion in an escrow account for the Gulf Coast and those affected by the oil spill. 

Some folks will applaud BP for "doing the right thing", but knowing that oil has been flowing for 53-plus-days, I hardly believe that $20 Billion will be adequate to pay the many people and businesses that have been affected.       

BP mess will take years to clean up

As more news becomes available about the many failed attempts to stop the oil from flowing, we get news from the Coast Guard that:

But the big problem the Coast Guard is facing is the intricacy of cleaning up oil that has broken into so many patches across the surface of the sea and spreading out in so many different directions. That will require many more vessels armed with skimmers and more booms to block the oil from reaching the shore.
