RMV: The Experience

Now, I don't know what type of experience you've had at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, but every-time I've had to visit the RMV, it's been a good experience.

The people working there have greeted me with a "Good morning" or "Good afternoon", and asked if I had any questions or needed additional help. (Yeah, maybe I just give off positive vibes, and saying a few extra prayers before I walk in do help, also.)

I've had friends share with me some of their horror stories visiting the RMV in Massachusetts: Like the time my friend, from New York City, was hit in the parking lot after she had visited the Worcester RMV. Luckily, she was OK and wasn't badly hurt.

Or there was the time another friend had to turn in the license plates for a vehicle that he had been leasing, that he had recently bought, was standing in line when a young man, who had taken the written test, failed the test for the 3rd time, and was so pissed off that he cursed at him and anyone within 5-feet before being escorted from the building. Needless to say, the kid was detained, which probably pissed him off even more!

But maybe, just maybe my experience at the RMV yesterday was pleasant because it was 4/20? I don't know, but whatever people were smoking or on yesterday, they need to consume more of it because it made for a pleasant experience at the RMV.

Gas-guzzler Tax

It appears that not only is Governor Patrick looking to increase the
taxes on gasoline, he is now proposing to hit folks that drive so
called "gas-guzzlers" with extra registeration fees and offer
discounts to those that drive more eco-friendly cars.

So, businesses that need large trucks for their business or families
that need a SUV to accommodate their family not only get hit at
the pump, but Gov. Patrick is proposing hitting them with higher fees
when they go to the RMV! Let's see if this law gathers any support in
Massachusetts. 

If it becomes a law, Massachusetts would be the first  state to do so, prior to even California, which has been kicking around the idea for the past 4-years.

Leave it to Gov. Patrick to beat Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the punch!
